We have limits for the president so no one person has power too long. How about for senate and congressional positions? There is an ugly side to politics in each party that comes with seniority in the system. People begin to do and expect “favors” and that is something that comes from being in the position for a long time. It is not just a problem with lobbyists, but happens from within the ranks themselves. Placing term limits even at 8, 12 or 16 years would limit the power that a specific person can gain over time just like the limits we impose on the president for the same reasons. Why are there no limits yet for the house and senate? You must be logged in to post a comment. |
